Auli Tour Package from Bhopal: Itinerary, Travel Routes & Auli-plus-Badrinath Guide

🏔️ 6N/7D | Haridwar – Srinagar (Garhwal) – Auli – Joshimath – Rishikesh | 🚗 Pickup: Haridwar Jn, Yog Nagari Rishikesh, Dehradun Airport

Planned and reviewed by Govind Bisht, Operations, SnazzyTrips | Last updated: 27 October 2026

Bhopal has an advantage most cities heading to Auli don’t: you can reach Haridwar without flying. Some trains run directly from Madhya Pradesh to Haridwar and Rishikesh on set days, and when those don’t suit your dates, the daily Bhopal–Delhi trains connect easily onward. That makes Auli a realistic train holiday for Bhopal families, with no airport transfers and plenty of luggage room for winter gear.

This package takes advantage of that. You arrive in Haridwar, which works for afternoon train arrivals, and climb into the Garhwal hills in two moderate stages with a night in Srinagar (Garhwal). After two nights in Auli for the slopes and Gorson Bugyal, you move down to Joshimath, which in season is the base for a day trip to Badrinath and Mana village, the last village before the Tibet border. In winter, we replace that day with more time in the snow. The trip ends in Rishikesh, close to the trains and to Dehradun airport.

SnazzyTrips is a local Uttarakhand-based DMC operating since 2003, with teams in Haldwani and Dehradun. Other routes and durations are on our Auli trip packages page.

✅ Quick Answer: The SnazzyTrips Auli tour package from Bhopal is a 6N/7D trip starting at ₹31,999 per couple (Standard tier). Bhopal travellers can take a direct train towards Haridwar on set days, connect via Delhi on a daily train, or take a one-stop flight to Dehradun. The route covers Haridwar, Srinagar (Garhwal), two nights in Auli, a Joshimath night with a seasonal Badrinath day, and Rishikesh.

⚖️ Auli vs Manali: Which Should Bhopal Travellers Choose?

The two snow names you’ll hear most

✅ Quick Answer: For Bhopal families, Auli is the calmer choice: quieter slopes, Nanda Devi views and a pilgrimage add-on with Haridwar and Badrinath. Manali has more nightlife, shopping and adventure options, but it is much busier in snow season, has heavy traffic towards Solang and the Atal Tunnel, and needs a permit for Rohtang Pass. Pick Auli for peace and pilgrimage, Manali for variety.
Factor Auli Manali
Rail access from Bhopal Direct trains on set days to Haridwar Train to Chandigarh or Delhi, then long road
Last road leg About 280 km from Haridwar About 300 km from Chandigarh
Town altitude Approx. 2,500–3,050 m Approx. 2,050 m
Snow activities Ski slopes, snow walks Solang Valley activities, Atal Tunnel area
Crowds in snow season Moderate Heavy, with traffic jams
Permits None Rohtang Pass needs a vehicle permit
Spiritual add-on Haridwar, Rishikesh, Badrinath Limited
Best for Families, seniors, pilgrims Young groups, honeymooners wanting activity
🧳 Tip for Bhopal travellers: If your group mixes grandparents who want darshan and younger members who want snow, Auli covers both in one trip. Manali would need a separate pilgrimage plan.

🥾 How Difficult is the Auli Trip?

Honest effort levels

✅ Quick Answer: The Auli trip is easy to moderate. Drive days are split into stages of 4–6 hours on the way up, with one longer 8–9 hour drive on the way down. Walking is light, except the optional Gorson Bugyal trail. Auli sits at around 2,800 m, so some travellers may feel mild breathlessness on the first evening.
  • Walking: Easy on the slopes; Gorson Bugyal is about 3 km each way; Mana village involves short uneven lanes.
  • Terrain: Grassy slopes in summer, snow and ice in winter.
  • Altitude: Badrinath is around 3,100 m, a little higher than Auli, so the Day 5 trip comes after two nights of adjusting.
  • Crowds: Badrinath is busiest in May–June and around festival dates; Auli peaks on snow weekends.
  • Weather: Bhopal winters are mild; Auli January nights go well below freezing.
  • Safety: Monsoon landslides hit NH7; we check road status daily.
  • Suitable for: Families, seniors without serious health issues, children above about 4.
💡 SnazzyTrips Insight: We schedule the Badrinath day after Auli, not before, so your body has already adjusted to around 2,800 m. Going to Badrinath straight from the plains is when most first-time visitors feel unwell.

❄️ Best Time to Visit Auli from Bhopal

When each season works

✅ Quick Answer: Visit between late December and February for snow and skiing, or between May and June to combine green Auli slopes with Badrinath darshan. September to early November gives clear views and Badrinath is still open. Avoid July and August due to monsoon landslides. Snow is never guaranteed.
Months Auli Badrinath Day Good for Bhopal Holidays?
Dec – Feb Snow likely, skiing Closed (extra Auli day instead) Winter school break
Mar – Apr Snow melting, quiet Usually closed until late Apr/May –
May – Jun Green slopes, mild Open; busiest period Summer vacations
Jul – Aug Heavy rain Risky road Avoid
Sep – early Nov Clear skies, cold nights Open until closing date Diwali break (check closing date)
🧳 Tip for Bhopal travellers: If you travel over the Diwali holidays, check Badrinath’s closing date before booking; it is announced each year and usually falls in mid-November. For pure snow trips, see our Uttarakhand winter packages.

🚆 How to Reach Auli from Bhopal

Rail-first, with flight backup

✅ Quick Answer: The easiest route from Bhopal is by train to Haridwar: a few direct trains from Madhya Pradesh run towards Haridwar and Rishikesh on set days, or you can take a daily Bhopal–Delhi train and connect to Haridwar. Flying means a one-stop flight from Bhopal’s Raja Bhoj Airport to Dehradun via Delhi, taking around 4.5–5 hours at the fastest.

🚆 Direct Trains Towards Haridwar

The 14309 Ujjaini Express runs from Indore (Lakshmibai Nagar) via Ujjain on Wednesdays and Thursdays and reaches Haridwar around 4:10 PM the next day, then continues to Yog Nagari Rishikesh. Travellers from the Bhopal side can join it at a nearby MP station on its route; check stops and days on IRCTC. Some other long-distance trains, such as the 17363 Hubballi–Yog Nagari Rishikesh Express, also link the region to Haridwar on set days.

🔁 Via Delhi (Daily Option)

Bhopal (Rani Kamlapati and Bhopal Jn) has daily day and overnight trains to Delhi. From New Delhi or Hazrat Nizamuddin, connect to a train to Haridwar the same day. This works well when the direct trains do not match your dates. If you’d like more time in Haridwar before or after the hills, see our Haridwar holiday plans.

✈️ By Flight

Raja Bhoj Airport has no non-stop flight to Dehradun. One-stop options via Delhi run on Air India and IndiGo. Jolly Grant Airport is about 40 km from Haridwar.

🚗 By Road

Driving from Bhopal to Haridwar is roughly 850–900 km, or 15–17 hours. It is only practical with an overnight halt near Agra or Delhi, and you would still need a hill driver for Garhwal.

🚆 Train vs Flight from Bhopal

Factor Train Flight via Delhi
Total journey About 16–25 hrs depending on route About 4.5–9 hrs
Direct option Yes, on set days No non-stop
Approx. one-way fare per person Sleeper ₹500–700; 3AC ₹1,400–1,800 ₹7,500–13,000

Best for Families, seniors, budget trips Short leave

All fares approximate; check IRCTC and airline websites.

Approximate; check IRCTC/airline for live fares. Excludes Badrinath offerings, skiing, chairlift tickets and personal costs.

🤝 Package vs Planning It Yourself

Why the logistics matter here

✅ Quick Answer: On this route, a package saves real hassle. Combining Auli with Badrinath means juggling temple closing dates, two different stay towns and long mountain drives. A local DMC times the Badrinath day to its season, keeps one vehicle with you for seven days, and switches to the winter version automatically when the temple is closed.
Factor SnazzyTrips Package Planning It Yourself
Badrinath timing ✔ Planned around opening and closing dates Easy to arrive after closing
Winter switch ✔ Extra Auli day built in You re-plan yourself
Vehicle ✔ One car and driver for 7 days Multiple taxis, one-way charges
Staged climb ✔ Srinagar halt pre-booked Long single-day drive
