Uttarakhand Tour Packages from Delhi: The Complete 2026 Guide
Last updated: October 2026 by the SnazzyTrips planning team, Haldwani
Delhi is the main gateway to Uttarakhand. Most travellers to the Himalayan state, whether from Delhi-NCR or flying in from elsewhere in India, start their journey here. From Delhi, you can reach the Ganga at Haridwar and Rishikesh in a few hours, the lakes of Nainital in a day's drive, and the Char Dham, Auli or Munsiyari in a longer journey.
In 2026, Uttarakhand became even easier to reach. The new Delhi–Dehradun Expressway has cut driving time to Dehradun to about 2.5 hours. That makes Rishikesh, Mussoorie and Haridwar realistic weekend trips, even with a Saturday-morning start.
SnazzyTrips is an Uttarakhand Destination Management Company (DMC) based in Haldwani, operating since 2003. We plan trips from Delhi by private cab, train or flight, with verified hotels, experienced mountain drivers and support on the ground. Because we're based in Uttarakhand, we know the route realities that most Delhi-based agents miss: weekend traffic, Kainchi Dham shuttle days, Nainital parking rules and landslide-prone stretches.
Quick Answer: Uttarakhand tour packages from Delhi start from about ₹8,999 per person for a 2–3 day weekend trip, with 5–7 day hill-station tours from about ₹12,999. The most popular trips from Delhi are:
- Rishikesh and Haridwar (3–4 hours by the new expressway route)
- Mussoorie (about 4 hours)
- Nainital and Kainchi Dham (6–8 hours)
- Jim Corbett (5–6 hours)
- The Char Dham Yatra (10–12 days)
The best times to visit are March–June, September–November, and late December to February for snow.

2026 Update: The Delhi–Dehradun Expressway
The Delhi–Dehradun Expressway opened to the public on 14 April 2026. It is a 210–213 km, six-lane, access-controlled corridor that starts near Akshardham in Delhi and passes Baghpat, Shamli and Saharanpur on the way to Dehradun. It includes an elevated wildlife corridor through the Rajaji forest area and a tunnel near the Daat Kali temple.

The Kumaon side (Nainital, Kainchi Dham, Almora, Corbett) still uses the Moradabad route, so its drive times haven't changed.
📍 SnazzyTrips Insight: With the expressway, a Delhi–Rishikesh trip is now a comfortable 2-night weekend: leave Saturday morning, catch the evening Ganga Aarti, go rafting on Sunday and be back in Delhi by Sunday night. We plan our Garhwal packages from Delhi around this new route.
Get your drivers to confirm the "now" drive times before publishing, since traffic at the Delhi end still varies.

What Is the Best Time to Visit Uttarakhand from Delhi?
Short answer: March–June is best for escaping Delhi's heat. September–November brings the clearest Himalayan views. Late December–February is for snow in Auli, Chopta, Mukteshwar and Munsiyari. Avoid July to mid-September because of monsoon landslides, and avoid the Haridwar route during the Kanwar Yatra in July.

Delhi Situation |
What to Expect in Uttarakhand |
| March–June |
Hot (40°C+ by May) |
Cool hills (15–28°C); peak season; Char Dham opens around April–May |
| July–mid-September |

🌫️ Winter Tip for Delhi Travellers: When Delhi's air quality drops in November–January, a trip to Binsar, Mukteshwar or Kausani is the easiest escape to clean mountain air. Weekday stays there are peaceful and good value.
Delhi-to-Uttarakhand Road Trip Tips (Local Knowledge)
- Leave Delhi before 6 AM on Friday and Saturday to avoid heavy traffic on the Moradabad route and at Delhi exits.
- Avoid Friday evening departures on long weekends. Traffic on the Delhi–Meerut and Moradabad stretches can add 3–4 hours.
- Kainchi Dham shuttle days: On weekends, around 15 June and at New Year, private vehicles may not reach Kainchi Dham directly. Visitors use shuttles from Bhimtal or Bhowali. Our drivers plan around this.
- Nainital parking: On peak days, vehicles may be stopped outside town and shuttles run inside. Choose hotels with confirmed parking.
- FASTag: Make sure your FASTag is active. The Delhi–Dehradun Expressway and the Moradabad route both have toll plazas.
- Kanwar Yatra (July): The Delhi–Haridwar highways see heavy diversions. Don't plan Garhwal trips from Delhi in this period unless you're taking part.
- Night driving: Avoid driving on hill roads after dark, especially in the monsoon and winter.
