Auli Tour Package from Tamil Nadu
Auli Tour Package from Tamil Nadu: Divya Desam Route, Snow Season Guide & Itinerary
Planned and reviewed by Govind Bisht, Operations, SnazzyTrips | Last updated: 27 October 2026
For many families in Chennai, Madurai, Srirangam or Kanchipuram, the road to Auli already has a special meaning. Three of the 108 Divya Desams praised by the Alvars lie on the same Alaknanda valley highway that leads to Auli’s ski slopes: Thirukandam at Devprayag, Thiruppirudhi at Joshimath and Thiruvadari Ashramam at Badrinath. Few holidays let you combine darshan at all three with snow and Himalayan views in one trip.
This package is built around that route. You land in Dehradun on a non-stop flight from Chennai, rest a night in Rishikesh, then travel up the valley at a pilgrim’s pace: a full evening at Devprayag’s sangam, two nights in Joshimath with a day for Badrinath and Mana, and finally two nights in Auli for the slopes and Gorson Bugyal. In winter, when Badrinath is closed, the same route becomes a snow trip, with darshan at Joshimath, where Lord Badrinarayan is worshipped during the winter months.
SnazzyTrips is a local Uttarakhand-based DMC operating since 2003, with teams in Haldwani and Dehradun. If you’d rather skip the temple circuit, see our snow-focused Auli trips.

🍛 Food and Temple Etiquette for Tamil Pilgrims
What to expect on the route
- Food: Rishikesh, Devprayag and Badrinath are vegetarian towns. Rice, dal and curd are easy to get everywhere; idli and dosa are available in Rishikesh and some Joshimath hotels. We share preferences with every hotel in advance.
- Badrinath connection: The Badrinath temple’s chief priest, the Rawal, traditionally comes from Kerala’s Namboodiri community, so many South Indian pilgrims feel a familiar link here.
- Dress: Traditional or modest clothing is expected at all three temples. Carry warm layers you can wear over it.
- Tapt Kund: A hot spring below Badrinath temple where pilgrims bathe before darshan; carry a change of clothes and a small towel.
- Queues: Badrinath darshan queues can be long in May–June and on festival days. Early morning is usually quieter.
