Haridwar Ardh Kumbh 2027 Package
Haridwar Ardh Kumbh 2027 Package: Snan Dates, Stays Near Har Ki Pauri & Pilgrim Guide
Planned and reviewed by Rohit kumar , Operations, SnazzyTrips |
The Haridwar Ardh Kumbh runs from 14 January to 20 April 2027, a 97-day mela with ten official bathing dates on the Ganga. It is the first Kumbh in Haridwar with full public participation since 2021, when the mela was cut short and the akharas' royal baths were held only symbolically. The state has also announced that the akharas will take formal Amrit Snan processions during this Ardh Kumbh, which is new for an Ardh Kumbh in Haridwar.
For pilgrims, everything depends on one thing: where you sleep. On the big snan days, vehicles are stopped well outside the city and the walk to the ghats can be long and crowded. A room within walking distance of Har Ki Pauri decides whether you get your dip calmly at dawn or spend half the day in traffic.
SnazzyTrips is a local Uttarakhand-based DMC operating since 2003, with teams in Haldwani and Dehradun. For the Ardh Kumbh, we're blocking rooms near Har Ki Pauri in advance and planning the routes on foot. For regular visits outside the mela, see all our Haridwar trips.

6 March (Mahashivratri), 8 March (Phalgun Amavasya) and 14 April 2027 (Mesh Sankranti).
3. What is the difference between Shahi Snan and Amrit Snan?
They're the same royal bath of the akharas. The Uttarakhand government has officially used the name "Amrit Snan" for 2027.
4. How much does the Ardh Kumbh 2027 package cost?
From ₹21,999 per couple for 3N/4D on regular mela days, from ₹27,999 in major snan windows, and from ₹34,999 in Amrit Snan windows (Standard tier, land only).
5. Can I stay near Har Ki Pauri during the Kumbh?
Yes. All our package hotels are chosen for walking distance to Har Ki Pauri, but rooms for snan dates are limited and sell out early.
6. Can I bathe at Har Ki Pauri on Amrit Snan days?
In past Kumbh melas, Har Ki Pauri was reserved for the akharas for part of the day, and the public bathed at other ghats. We'll confirm the arrangements for your date once the mela administration announces them.
7. Is the Ardh Kumbh safe for senior citizens?
Yes on regular mela days, with a hotel close to the ghats. Amrit Snan days involve long walks and very large crowds, so most seniors are better off on shoulder dates.
8. How many days should I plan?
3N/4D is enough for one snan date and the mela grounds. Add 2 nights in Rishikesh for a calmer 5N/6D trip.
9. How do I reach Haridwar during the Kumbh?
By train directly to Haridwar Junction, by flight to Dehradun followed by a 35–40 km drive, or by road from Delhi (about 220 km). Special trains are usually added for the mela.
10. When should I book?
As soon as possible for Amrit Snan windows. Hotel rooms near the ghats, train tickets and flights for these dates fill first.
11. Can you arrange rituals during the Ardh Kumbh?
Yes. We arrange pandits for snan sankalp, pind daan, asthi visarjan and other rituals, scheduled around the day's ghat access.
12. Is Rishikesh worth adding during the Kumbh?
Yes. Rishikesh is only about 25 km away and much calmer, which makes it a good place to rest before or after your snan.
13. Can I combine the Ardh Kumbh with Char Dham Yatra?
Yes. The mela ends on 20 April, and the Char Dham season usually opens soon after. See our Char Dham yatra after the Kumbh options.
14. What is the cancellation policy for mela bookings?
Our standard policy applies unless a hotel's mela-period terms are stricter, in which case those terms are shown in your quotation before you pay.
15. How do I book?
Share your preferred snan date, number of travellers, ages of any seniors or children, and your arrival plan. We'll send a quotation with confirmed hotel and walking distance.
